With Apple Pay growing in popularity, Zopa has made it easy to offer this new payment method to your customers using Safari to checkout on their iPhone, iPad, or computer.

ℹ️ How to start accepting Apple Pay

If you are interested in accepting Apple Pay via Zopa but are NOT yet approved to use Zopa Pay by Card, please contact us at merchantsupport@zopa.com. Our team will help you get activated and answer any questions you have along the way.

If you are using the latest version of the Zopa plugin and approved for Zopa Pay by Card, then you are ready to start using Apple Pay! You can activate Apple Pay by following these instructions:

1. Log in to the Zopa Dashboard
2. Click on Payment Methods
3. Click the toggle 🔘 next to Apple Pay

 

Unlike other processors, Apple Pay via Zopa does not require you to purchase an Apple Developer membership or upload an Apple certificate before offering Apple Pay. 

💬 Apple Pay FAQs

How do I refund or void an Apple Pay payment? 

Apple Pay payments can be refunded or voided similar to other Zopa payment methods. For instructions on how to refund, check out the Issuing a refund article. For voids, see the Issuing a void article. 

Is there an additional fee to offer Apple Pay? 

Nope! Fees on Apple Pay payments are the same as if your customer used their credit card directly in your checkout.

Do you run 3DS on Apple Pay payments? 

No. Apple handles SCA when a customer adds their card to their Apple Wallet, so Apple Pay payments through your checkout will not need 3DS. 

How do I receive disbursements for Apple Pay payments? 

Apple Pay payments are processed together with Pay by Card, so you'll see any Apple Pay payments, refunds, & fees batched up in your daily Pay by Card disbursements to your bank account. 

What should I do if my customer is not seeing Apple Pay as an option when they checkout? 

Start by confirming they are using an Apple supported browser. Apple Pay will only be presented as a payment method when your customer uses an Apple Safari browser on their computer or iOS device (iPhone or iPad). If they're still experiencing issues, feel free to email us at merchantsupport@zopa.com. 

What card types are accepted via Apple Pay? 

With Apple Pay via Zopa, you can accept Visa and Mastercard credit & debit cards that your customers have stored in their Apple Wallet. 

Can I test Apple Pay in Zopa Test mode?

In order to create Apple Pay payments in Zopa Test Mode, you’ll need three things:

• A qualifying iOS or Mac OS device signed in to an Apple Test Account
• A special test card for ApplePay
• Enable the Apple Pay payment method on your Test Mode dashboard

Once you have an iOS device or Mac configured to use this test account, with a test card added to the Apple Pay wallet (which can be added during the payment flow) you'll be able to complete an end-to-end test on your site set in Test Mode.
