If you're using Zopa Retail Finance on Shopify, you may need to update your existing widgets to use the latest Dynamic Integration.
This allows your widgets to receive ongoing updates and improvements through Zopa's centrally managed widget service.
To complete the update, you'll need the latest version of the Shopify plugin, an API key, and access to your Shopify Theme Editor.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- The latest version of the Zopa Shopify plugin installed.
- Access to the Merchant Portal.
- The Retailer Admin role to generate an API key.
- Access to your Shopify Theme Editor.
There are three stages to completing the update:
- Update your Shopify plugin.
- Generate your API key.
- Enable the Dynamic Integration in your Shopify theme.
1. Update your Shopify plugin
Make sure you're using the latest version of the Zopa Shopify plugin.
If you're using an older version, update the plugin before continuing.
Once the update is complete, the DivideBuy Convert+ theme block will update automatically.
Note: DivideBuy Convert+ is the name referenced in the existing plugin instructions. Confirm whether this is still the name displayed in Shopify before changing it.
2. Generate your API key
The Dynamic Integration uses an API key to connect your Shopify widgets to Zopa's centrally managed widget service.
You'll need the Retailer Admin role in the Merchant Portal to create an API key.
- Log in to your Merchant Portal.
- Select Retailer Settings.
- Select API & Authentication.
- Select Create New API Key.
- Enter your store URL, for example
https://www.store.com. - Select Add Another URL.
- Enter your Shopify store URL, for example
https://example.myshopify.com. - Select Create API Key.
Your API key will be generated for use with the Dynamic Integration.
3. Enable the Dynamic Integration in Shopify
Once you've generated your API key, you'll need to update the Zopa widgets in your Shopify theme.
Update your product templates
For each product template containing Zopa widgets:
- Open the template in the Shopify Theme Editor.
- Update the Zopa block to use the Dynamic Integration.
- Enter your API key in the block settings.
Repeat these steps for each product template containing Zopa widgets.
Update your cart page
You'll also need to update any Zopa widgets on your cart page.
- Open the cart page in the Shopify Theme Editor.
- Update the Zopa block to use the Dynamic Integration.
- Enter the same API key in the block settings.
Once complete, your product templates and cart page will be configured to use the Dynamic Integration.
