What you'll need before you begin
Before starting an application with a customer, make sure they have all the information and documents needed to complete the process successfully.
The customer should have:
- A valid debit card
- A debit card that is in their name
- A debit card linked to the address they are applying from
- Access to their banking app
Payment details during the application
During the application, the customer will be asked to:
- Provide their account number and sort code
- Provide payment card details using their debit card
Both steps are required to complete the application.
Information the customer will need
The customer should be ready to provide:
Employment details
- Employment status
- Current salary or income
- Length of time in their current role
Housing details
- Residential status
- Monthly housing costs or contribution towards housing costs
Banking details
- How long they have held their current bank account
Before you proceed
Check that the customer has all of the above information available before starting the application. This will help avoid delays and reduce the chance of the application being abandoned part way through.
Escalation
If the customer does not have access to their debit card, banking app, or the required personal information, ask them to gather these details before continuing with the application.
